Florida Gators, Florida Credit Union Partner for third “Beyond the Arc” Campaign to Benefit The Education Foundation of Alachua County

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2023) – Florida Credit Union, The Education Foundation of Alachua County, and Florida Gator Sports Properties of LEARFIELD are joining forces once again for the third annual “Beyond the Arc” campaign. Taking place throughout the 2023-2024 University of Florida men’s and women’s basketball seasons, this year’s campaign continues to benefit the students of Alachua County. For every three-point basket made by either Gators teams during home or away games, FCU will donate $25 to The Education Foundation, up to $10,000.

“We’re excited to enter our third year of the Beyond the Arc campaign!” said Beatrice Cherry, FCU SVP of Marketing. “Many of our members are teachers, and have been since our beginnings in 1954 as the Alachua County Teachers’ Credit Union. We’ve developed a great relationship with The Education Foundation. Their mission to prepare students with the necessary tools to empower their current and future successes is one we’re always happy to contribute towards.”

The campaign goes all season long but some of the highlights are:
  • Through December 31: Guess the total number of 3-pointers during the season contest for a chance to win $500.
  • December 22 against Grambling State: $5 of the $10 tickets goes back to The Education Foundation.
  • January 28, 2024, FCU and The Education Foundation will partner to attend the UF women’s basketball game against the University of Texas A&M. 50 tickets donated by FCU will be available to teachers.
  • February 10, 2024 during UF men’s basketball game against Auburn, a fan will compete against Danny Wuerffel, 1996 Heisman Trophy winner, in a free throw challenge.

The previous two Beyond the Arc campaigns have raised over $22,000 for The Education Foundation.

“The Education Foundation of Alachua County invests in education through three critical programs: Teacher innovation grants; senior scholarships; and mentoring for at-risk students,” said Jayne Moraski, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “In 2023, the Education Foundation provided over $630,000 for deserving high school seniors to go on to college. We are so thankful for UF and Florida Credit Union’s shared support of education.”

This cause marketing initiative is managed by LEARFIELD’s Florida Gators Sports Properties team, the Gators’ multimedia rightsholder which solely represents the University Athletic Association (UAA) and all corporate sponsorships.
