Invested in your dreams for higher education

At Florida Credit Union, we believe in the power of educational opportunities for our young members. We started out serving teachers, so education has always been a priority for us. Every year, we award three scholarships to students based on their scholastic record, future potential, leadership, initiative, character, dependability, integrity and financial needs. Students are eligible to apply if they, or their parents/guardian, are FCU members, and if the students are actively enrolled or plan to enroll in undergraduate college courses within the calendar year.

Congratulations to the 2022 scholarship winners: Teri Adams (Hines), Ty'Asia Boone, Colton Brewer, Viviana Burgos Melendez, Ethan Combs, Carol Dougherty, Samuel Freitag, Sheronda Hayes, Kenneth Holman, Ian Hunt, Richard Jiang, Samantha Johnson-Streit, Aailiyah Jones, Emmalene LaBonte, Deniece Lawrence, Mattilyn Marsee, Taeya Mayes, Amya Mcleod, Caleb Moncrief, Yasmin Newman, Rachel Parks, Tyra Peterson, Mikayla Rush, Alanis Santiago Maldonado, Kelsey Sherman, Jonathan Smith, Hannah Terry, Zaya Thompson, Gabrielle Welch, April Welcome, Angel Wells, Susan Wilkerson, Gabrielle Williams, Zaniyah Williams

The Servin-Ellis Scholarship Fund was originally established in memory of the first treasurer/manager of FCU, Oscar Servin. In 1997, the fund was renamed to also honor Dr. Jonnie Ellis, a board member who served from 1987 to 1997 and served as Chair from 1993 to 1996. The scholarship fund is awarded annually in May and is divided among more than one recipient.

Who is eligible?

The award is open to any high school senior who is enrolled or plans to enroll in the current year in undergraduate study. Students interested in applying must first qualify by having a parent or guardian who is an FCU member or by being a FCU member themselves.

The Buchholz Academy of Finance Scholarship, originally a subset of the Servin-Ellis Scholarship, is distributed annually in May and is awarded to one or more Buchholz High School Academy of Finance seniors who enrolled or plan to enroll in the current year in undergraduate study.

Who is eligible?

The award is open to any BHS Academy of Finance senior who plans to enroll in the current year in undergraduate study and is a member, or whose parent is a member, of Florida Credit Union.

The Dr. John C. Rawls Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. John C. Rawls, a member of the Board of Directors since 1957. Over his 55 years of service, Dr. Rawls served on the board as President, Vice President, Secretary, Chair and Treasurer. During a nine-month period in the 1990s, he served as the interim CEO of the credit union until a new CEO could be found.

Who is eligible?

The award is open to students planning to further their education who are enrolled or plan to enroll during the current year in undergraduate or graduate study. Recently graduated high school students are not eligible for this scholarship. Interested applicants must first qualify by being an FCU member or having parent or guardian who is an FCU member.
