Florida Credit Union's youth savings and checking accounts provide a safe place for earnings from allowances, gifts, and part-time jobs.  And with free online banking access, it's easier for parents/guardians to keep an eye on funds and make transfers for allowance and other needs.

Youth Account FAQs

A youth account is a savings account designed to help kids learn about financial concepts, such as earning and saving money.
When your child turns 18 years of age, their account will convert into either a standard checking or savings account. Your teen can then choose to keep you on their account as a joint, or convert the account into an independent account.
There is a $5 minimum balance for a youth account, as it is a share account and represents the share of ownership.
Yes! You can open multiple youth savings accounts for your child.
Florida Credit Union offers teen checking accounts to teens aged 16 and up.
To open a youth checking account, your child must be 16 years or older.

4. Florida Credit Union protects the information privacy of our younger members. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information about children under age 13 from our website. If a person sends personal information to us through any online service and identifies himself or herself as being under the age of 13, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child or to notify the parents. We will not retain such information unless we obtain parental consent.
