Ms. Judy Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts from Augsburg College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and she received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida.


She has served as a member of the Alachua County School Board, Staff Attorney for the School Board of Leon County, Associate General Counsel of Florida State University, Counselor with the University of Florida College of Education and as a Marion County Commissioner.


Ms. Johnson has a long history of volunteer and public service work. She is a long-time member of the Ocala Women’s Network, and she has been a member of the League of Women Voters in both Marion County and at the state level for more than 30 years. She serves on the board of the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County and is a member of the Appleton Museum of Art Advisory Council. Ms. Johnson has held a wide variety of positions in the organizations in which she serves, including chairman, program chair, legislative chair and state president. She has been appointed to state committees by three Florida governors. Additional organizations Mrs. Johnson has supported include the Economic Development Council in Ocala, the Interfaith Alliance, the Marion County Planning Commission, Public Policy Institute of Marion County and Friends of the Ocala Public Library. She graduated from both Leadership Gainesville and Leadership Ocala. In addition, Ms. Johnson has been a member of the Florida Credit Union Board of Directors since 2009. She graduated from the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program, certifying her knowledge and expertise in the credit union industry.
