Gainesville, Fla. – Florida Credit Union (FCU) is excited to showcase its partnership with Florida Gators Sports Properties of LEARFIELD to benefit The Education Foundation of Alachua County (The Education Foundation) through the “Beyond the Arc” campaign during the 2021-2022 University of Florida Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons.

For every three-point basket made by the Gator men’s and women’s basketball teams during home or away games, FCU will donate $25 to The Education Foundation, up to $10,000. More than $5,000 has been raised so far.

“Florida Credit Union began with roots in education, starting in 1954 as the Alachua County Teachers’ Credit Union,” Beatrice Cherry, FCU SVP Marketing, said. “Since then, we have grown to more than 130,000 members and serve 48 counties, but our commitment to education and our community continues. We love supporting The Education Foundation in its mission to equip students with the tools to empower current and future successes, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to team up with the Gators.”

On January 30, FCU and The Education Foundation will partner to attend the UF Women’s Basketball game against the nation’s #1-ranked team in the University of South Carolina. The Education Foundation students, families and mentors from Take Stock in Children, a one-on-one mentoring program, will attend with 70 tickets donated by FCU.

Tickets are available for $7 at https://fevo.me/3ykmZvs, and for every ticket purchased, $5 will be donated to The Education Foundation of Alachua County.

Another “Beyond the Arc” initiative is planned for the UF Men’s Basketball game February 9 against the University of Georgia to also bring more attention to FCU and The Education Foundation.

This cause marketing initiative was secured with FCU by Florida Gators Sports Properties, LEARFIELD’s local team and the multimedia rightsholder and sports marketing arm for the University Athletic Association (UAA).
